“Those are all options and as I said, I will always stand by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s decision and his prerogatives. Let us let him take the lead. I don’t want to preempt him.” sabi ni Romualdez
“I actually had some words that I will share. I just told the ambassador from China to the Philippines, maybe he doesn’t want it to happen that under his watch, he saw that the relationship with the Philippines went from good relations to not so good relations, that it will deteriorate. It doesn’t look good that on his watch, this happened. That’s why he should exert all the effort as the representative, the official representative of China to the Philippines.” pagbabahagi ni Romualdez.
So, the last time we talked at a different level was when we visited Beijing with the President (Marcos) over 18 months ago. We were in Beijing and we thought it was a good conversation, but unfortunately, these skirmishes in the disputed areas have worsened, and that is now the highlight of the relationship rather than the other commonalities which should actually be celebrated,” dagdag ni Romualdez. | ulat ni Kathleen Forbes
