2,500 OFWs, nakakuha na ng claims sa mga naluging kumpanya sa Saudi Arabia

Umabot na sa 2,500 na overseas Filipino worker (OFW) claimants ang nakakuha ng kanilang unpaid claims mula sa gobyerno ng Saudi Arabia.

Ayon kay Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac, ito ay katumbas ng 130 million Saudi Riyals (SAR) o P1.95 billion ng kabuuang claims na naibigay na sa mga OFW.

Tumutulong na rin ang pamahalaan sa pagpapalit ng mga tseke na natatanggap ng mga claimant.

Aasahan pa raw ang pagdating ng mga payout para sa iba pang mga OFW sa mga susunod na batch.

Matatandaang nasa 10,000 Filipino workers ang nawalan ng trabaho mula sa nabangkaroteng construction companies sa Saudi Arabia noong 2015. | ulat ni Diane Lear
