Bilang pagpupugay at pagkilala sa kanilang mahalagang kontribusyon sa lungsod, inihayag ni Marikina City Mayor Marcy Teodoro ang pagdodoble ng birthday cash gift para sa lahat ng senior citizens sa lungsod.

Pormal ni nilagdaan ni Mayor Teodoro ngayong araw ang ordinansa na naglalayong dagdagan ang birthday cash gift para sa lahat ng senior citizens.

Ayon sa alkalde, simula bukas, August 1, 2024, lahat ng senior citizens na magdidiwang ng kaarawan sa lungsod ay makakatanggap na ng P2,000 bilang birthday cash gift, mula sa dating P1,000.

Aniya, ang karagdagang benepisyo ay isang paraan upang maipakita ang pasasalamat ng lungsod sa mga senior citizen na naging bahagi ng pag-unlad ng Marikina.

Hinikayat din ni Mayor Teodor ang mga senior citizen na ibahagi ang biyayang ito sa kanilang mga pamilya, bilang simbolo ng pagmamahal at pagkakaisa. | ulat ni Diane Lear
