Binigyang-diin ni Finance Secretary Ralph Recto na prayoridad ng kanyang kagawaran na ilaan ang bawat pisong nakokolektang kita ng gobyerno sa edukasyon at sa iba pang social protection at infrastructure goals ng Marcos Jr. Administration.

Ito ang mensahe ni Recto sa 2024 Philippine Association of State University.

Ayon kay Recto, target ng gobyerno na makapag produce ng mas maraming globally competitive na mga Pinoy kaya maglalaan ang pamahalaan ng pondo sa pagpapahusay ng edukasyon sa bansa.

Aniya, naniniwala ang Marcos Jr. Administration na mas higit pa ang return of investment sa mga magagaling na manggagawang Pinoy na nasa 15 percent kumpara sa bangko at stocks.

Kung marami aniya ang mga kabataan natin na college graduate. Tiyak na magdudulot  ito ang productivity at economic growth.

Base sa 2024 General Appropriations Act (GAA), nakatanggap ang sector ng education ng malaking budget allocation na nasa P969.0 billion higit na mataas ng 8.2% kumpara noong 2023.

Kabilang din sa top priority ng gobyerno ang social protection, food security, at physical infrastructure upang matiyak na hindi lamang magagaling ang mga Pilipino bagkus malusog at maayos ang pamumuhay. | ulat ni Melany Valdoz Reyes
