Umaapela na sa Kamara at Senado si Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte na pabilisin ang pagpasa ng SOGIESC Equality bill.

Sa ginanap na Love Laban 2 Everyone! Happy Equality: Araw ng Pasasalamat noong Hunyo 30, 2024… naghayag ng pagkadismaya si Mayor Belmonte dahil sa mabagal na pag-usad ng pagpasa ng nasabing batas.

Ayon sa alkalde, sa kabila ng matagal nang pakikipaglaban ng lungsod tungo sa karapatan at pagkakapantay-pantay ng bawat isa ay nakabinbin parin ang panukala.

Binigyang diin ni Mayor Belmonte, na ang kaniyang panawagan ay hindi lang para sa mga miyembro ng LGBTQIA  + Community kung hindi para sa lahat ng mamamayan dahil ang bawat isa ay mayroong Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, Gender Expression, or Sex Characteristics (SOGIESC). | ulat ni Rey Ferrer
