Mga reklamo ng cybercrime bumaba ng 36%

Iniulat ng Philippine National Police (PNP) na bumaba ng 36 na porsyento ang mga reklamo tungkol sa cybercrime mula Enero hanggang Hunyo ng taong kasalukuyan kumpara sa parehong panahon noong nakalipas na taon.

Base ito sa datos ng PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG) kung saan 8,177 reklamo ang naitala sa unang anim na buwan ng taon kumpara sa 12,808 sa kahalintulad na panahon noong nakaraang taon.

Ayon sa ACG, bumaba ang iniulat na insidente ng iba’t ibang modus ng cybercime kabilang ang online selling, investment, at debit/credit card fraud, na indikasyong epektibo ang cybersecurity measures na ipinatupad ng pamahalaan at mga pribadong kumpanya.

Ayon pa sa ACG, nakatulong ang kanilang cybercrime awareness campaign para maging mas-maingat ang publiko sa mga online scam.

Samantala, pinuna ng ACG ang pagtaas ng kaso ng cyber libel, at photo and video voyeurism, na indikasyon na dumadalas ang paggamit ng digital platforms para sa mga personal na alitan. | ulat ni Leo Sarne
