NIA Solar Irrigation Project, pinapurihan ng Bicolano solon

Nagpahayag ng buong suporta si House Appropriations Committee Chairperson at Ako Bicol Party-list Representative Zaldy Co sa bagong inisyatiba ng National Irrigation Administration’s (NIA) upang mapatubigan ang mga rain-fed areas at gawing produktibo ang kanilang lupain.

Kasunod ito ng paglulunsad ng NIA Solar Irrigation project, na sakop ang may 71 lugar sa Bicol Region na may katumbas na 1,810 ektaryamg lupain at 4,560 na magsasaka na makikinabang.

Sabi ni Co, magsisilbing game changer ang P1.5 billion project na ito ng administrasyon upang tugunan ang napakahalagang pangangailangan ng mga magsasaka sa patubig.

Palalakasin din aniya nito ang ani at ang kakayahan ng mga magsasaka na pakinabangan ang kanilang mga lupain, na magreresulta sa mas mataas na kita.

“With the availability of water during the dry season, we can expect an estimated additional income of P140 million every year for our farmers,” sabi ni Co

“Our farmers are the backbone of our economy. Mahalagang bigyan natin sila ng kagamitan at resources na kailangan upang umunlad at mapalakas ang kanilang produksyon ng pagkain. This project not only boosts agricultural productivity but also uplifts the socio-economic status of our farmers,” dagdag pa ng House panel chair.

Magiging prayoridad ng programa ang mga lugar na umaasa lang sa tubig ulan para sa patubig.

Kaya naman kung makumpleto ay hindi na sila mamo-mroblema kapag panahon ng tagtuyot at makakapagpatuloy sa pagtatanim.
