Tinapos na ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) ang huling yugto ng kanilang benchmarking study at field research sa mga lalawigan ng Samar at Leyte.

Ayon sa DSWD, nakipagtulungan sa mga local government units ang concerned agencies para sa focus group discussions, kasama dito ang dating Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army at mga miyembro ng ‘militia ng bayan’.

Bago ang serye ng mga aktibidad, nakipag-ugnayan ang team sa provincial governors at municipal mayors ng Calbiga at San Isidro.

Present din sa aktibidad ang regional representatives ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine National Police (PNP) at Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Sabi pa ng DSWD, anim na yugto ng data gathering ang kinumpleto ng field research para sa former members of non-state armed groups, na kinabibilangan ng Abu Sayyaf Group, Cordillera Bodong Administration-Cordillera People’s Liberation Army (CBA-CPLA), Dawlah Islamiyah (Maute Group), KAPATIRAN at ang CPP-NPA. | ulat ni Rey Ferrer
