Panukala para sa regulasyon ng operasyon ng mga motorcycle taxi, pasado na sa Kamara

Pinagtibay na ng Kamara ang House Bill 10424 o Motorcycles-for-Hire Act.

Ang panukalang batas ang magbibigay daan sa mga motorsiklo na maging alternatibong transportasyon at pamamaraan ng pagpapadala ng kalakal, parcel, o sulat.

Ani Speaker Martin Romualdez, layon nito na i-regulate ang motorcycle taxis para masiguro ang kaligtasan nito bilang public transport.

Magsisilbi rin aniya itong kabuhayan para sa mga Pilipino.

Oras na maging ganap na batas lahat ng motorcycle-for-hire ay kailangan irehistro sa Land Transportation Office (LTO).

Ang Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) naman ang mangangasiwa sa mga motorcycle taxi sa mga lugar na walang digital platform.

Nakabatay naman ang bilang ng ruta at dami ng unit sa local public transport route plan ng mga LGU.

Nagtatakda rin ito ng 60 kilometer per hour na speed limit para sa mga motorcycle taxi.

Nakapaloob din sa panukala na kapwa may pananagutan ang operator, Motorcycle Taxi Platform Providers (MTPPs), at Online E-commerce Platform Providers (OEPPs) sa pagkasawi, injury o damage to property na matatamo sa operasyon ng motorcycle taxi. | ulat ni Kathleen Jean Forbes
