Tiwala ang Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) na malaki ang magiging pakinabang ng Pilipinas sa sandaling maselyuhan na nito ang Reciprocal Access Agreement (RAA) sa Japan.

Ito ang inihayag ni Philippine Navy Spokesperson for West Philippine Sea, Rear Admiral Roy Vincent Trinidad kasunod ng napipintong paglagda ng dalawang bansa sa nasabing kasunduan na posibleng mangyari ngayong buwan.

Sa pulong-balitaan sa Kampo Aguinaldo, sinabi ni Trinidad na kung mangyayari nga ang paglagda ng kasunduan ay magiging makasaysayan ito hindi lang sa Pilipinas kundi sa international community.

Sa gitna ng kasalukuyang sitwasyon sa West Philippine Sea, sinabi ni Trinidad na nauunawaan na ng international community ang kahalagahan ng nagkakaisang pagtindig nito sa rules-based international order mula sa mga nagtatangkang wasakin ito.

Giit pa niya, ang pagigiit sa karapatan ng teritoryo ay hindi lamang laban ng Pilipinas kundi maging ng iba pang mga bansa dahil kailangang manaig ang international law.

Ang RAA na lalagdaan ng Pilipinas at Japan ay kahalintulad ng Visiting Forces Agreement (VFA) sa pagitan naman ng Pilipinas at Amerika. | ulat ni Jaymark Dagala
