Sisimulan na ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) ang feasibility study para sa Subic-Clark-Manila-Batangas Railway.

Sa Build Better More Infra Forum ng Presidential Communications Office (PCO), sinabi ni DOTr Undersecretary Timothy John Batan na mula sa dating Subic-Clark Railway ay pinalawak pa ito hanggang sa Batangas.

Bahagi aniya ito ng flagship project sa ilalim ng Luzon Economic Corridor, na bunga ng trilateral partnership sa pagitan ng Pilipinas, Japan, at U.S.

Ayon kay Usec. Batan, popondohan ng Asian Development Bank ang gagawing feasibility study para matukoy ang viability ng proposed freight railway.
