Umaasa si Camarines Sur Representative LRay Villafuerte na mapagtitibay na ang mga panukalang batas para sa umento sa sahod ng mga guro at pagpapaigting sa proficiency ng mga mag-aaral para maging matagumpay ang learning recovery program ng pamahalaan.
Kasabay ng pagbubukas ng klase ngayong araw, ipinaalala ng mambabatas ang atas ng Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. noong kaniyang SONA na bigyang suporta at alagaan ang mga guro.
“As the 2024-2025 Schoolyear (SY) opens this week, the 19th Congress can, on its third and final session, write education reforms to help put the government’s national learning recovery on the fast lane by passing new legislations to reverse the low proficiency levels of our students and improve the living standards of their tutors and provide them with well-grounded career paths either as teachers or school administrators,” sabi ni Villafuerte.
Isa sa mga hiling ng kinatawan ay maaksyunan na ang House Bill (HB) No. 1851 kung saan mula Salary Grade 11 ay itataas sa SG 19 ang sweldo ng mga public school teachers.
Giit niya, sa kabila ng napakaraming trabaho at workload ng mga guro ay sila rin ang underpaid na mga manggagawa.
“Despite their heavy workload and essential role as agents of constructive intellectual, social, cultural, political, and moral change in our society, our public school teachers are among the most underpaid workers in the country,” giit ni Villafuerte.
Para naman mapagbuti ang proficiency ng mga mag-aaral kabilang sa mga panukalang isinusulong ng mambabatas ang pagkakaroon ng mga library at reading centers sa lahat ng lungsod, bayan, at munisipalidad sa bansa at pag-upgrade sa book rooms ng mga paaralan mula elementarya hanggang sa kolehiyo. | ulat ni Kathleen Jean Forbes
