AMLC, target maialis ang Pilipinas sa Financial Action Task Force ‘grey list’ sa susunod na taon

Target ng Anti Money Laundering Council (AMLC) na matugunan hanggang Oktubre ng taong ito ang mga natitirang hakbang para makaalis na ang Pilipinas sa ‘grey list’ ng Financial Action Task Force (FATF)

Sa budget hearing sa Senado, sinabi ni AMLC Executive Director Matthew David, na malaki ang posibilidad na magkaroon ng on-site visit ang FATF kung masusunod ang action items hanggang sa Enero 2025

Dito ay muling ia-assess ng FATF ang pagpapatupad ng Pilipinas ng mga hakbang kontra anti money laundering at counter financing ng terrorism.

Kabilang sa mga aksyon na kailangan pang gawin ng Pilipinas ang pagtugon sa banta na may kaugnayan sa casino junkets; pagtugon sa mga isyung may kinalaman sa pagpapatupad ng cross-border measures sa lahat ng mga pantalan at paliparan sa bansa; at pagpapakita ng mas mataas na pag uusig sa terrorism financing cases.

Ayon kay David, itong tatlong items na lang ang kailangang resolbahin ng Pilipinas mula sa dating 18 recommended action na itinakda ng FATF. | ulat ni Nimfa Asuncion
