DA, inaprubahan na ang pag-aangkat ng puting sibuyas

Aprubado na ng Department of Agriculture (DA) ang pag-aangkat ng yellow onions o puting sibuyas sa bansa.

Ayon kay Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu-Laurel Jr. nasa 16,000 metriko tonelada (MT) ang volume ng aangkating puting sibuyas.

Aniya, limitadong volume lamang ito para masigurong magiging stable pa rin ang presyo ng puting sibuyas sa merkado.

Siniguro din ni Sec. Tiu-Laurel na pararatingin ang mga imported na sibuyas hanggang katapusan ng Disyembre at hindi makakaapekto sa nakatakdang susunod na harvest season sa Marso hanggang Abril sa 2025.

Kaugnay nito, inihayag naman ng kalihim na nananatiling sapat ang suplay pa rin ng pulang sibuyas ngayon sa bansa. | ulat ni Merry Ann Bastasa
