Epekto ng pinababang taripa sa imported na bigas, mararamdaman sa Oktubre – DA

Inaasahan na sa Oktubre mararamdaman ang epekto ng pinababang taripa sa imported na bigas.

Sa budget briefing ng Department of Agriculture (DA) sa Kamara, ipinaliwanag ni DA Secretary Francicso Tiu Laurel kung bakit wala pang signipikanteng pagbaba sa presyo ng mga bigas sa merkado.

Aniya, Hulyo lang naging epektibo ang bagong tariff rates at sa ngayon ang ibinibentang stocks ng bigas sa merkado ng importers ay nabili mula January hanggang June na may mataas pang presyo na may 35% tariff.

Kaya naman hindi aniya agarang bababa ang presyo ng bigas.

Batay sa price monitoring ng ahensya hanggang nitong August 8, ang presyo ng regular milled rice ay nasa P46 hanggang P48 habang ang well milled ay nasa P51 hanggang P53 naman. | ulat ni Kathleen Forbes
