Muling iginiit ni Speaker Martin Romualdez na buong buo ang suporta ng Kamara sa mga inisyatiba ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. na layong palakasin ang produksyon at ani ng mga Pilipinong magsasaka.
Kasunod ito ng ginawang turnover ceremony ng 1,499 na bagong heavy equipment para sa National Irrigation Administration (NIA) sa Mexico Pampanga ngayong araw na kapwa sinaksihan ni Pangulong Marcos at Speaker Romualdez.
Kabilang sa mga kagamitan na ito ang excavators, trailer trucks, at dumpers na bahagi ng 2nd tranche ng tatlong taong refleeting program ng NIA.
“The House of Representatives stands firmly behind President Marcos Jr.’s vision of a more productive and resilient agricultural sector. Our farmers are the backbone of our nation, and it is our duty to provide them with the necessary support to thrive,” sabi ni Speaker Romualdez.
Sabi ng House leader, ang pagpapalakas sa sektor ng agrikultura ay hakbang para makamit ang food security at mabigyan ng mas sustainable hanapbuhay ang mga magsasaka.
Kaya naman nangako rin si Romualdez, na bubusisiing mabuti ang panukalang pambansang pondo para sa susunod na taon lalo na pagdating sa irigasyon.
Para sa taong 2025 pinaglaanan ng P42 billion ang pagsasayos ng irrigation system ng bansa.
