NMIS, pinaigting ang pag-iinspeksyon sa mga baboy sa harap ng banta ng ASF

Mas pinaigting pa ng National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS) ang kanilang mga hakbang kasunod ng paglaganap ng African Swine Fever (ASF) sa Batangas.

Ayon kay NMIS-NCR Regional Technical Director Dr. Jocelyn Salvador, makatutulong umano ito para maiwasang maipuslit papasok ng Metro Manila ang mga apektadong baboy.

Kung saan bukod sa accreditation at registration, puspusan na rin ang ginagawang “surveillance audit” sa mga planta o mga meat establishments.

Sa pamamagitan nito, mahigpit aniyang mababantayan ang mga slaughterhouse, cold storage facilities, meat cutting, at meat distribution centers sa food safety.

Iniutos din ni Dr. Salvador na maging alerto ang quick response ng NMIS-NCR, gayundin ang Plant Operation Standards and Monitoring Section at lahat ng meat inspection officers sa Metro Manila. | ulat ni Merry Ann Bastasa
