Pag-control sa rodent population ng bansa, dapat nang tutukan ayon sa pamahalaan

Binigyang diin ng pamahalaan na hindi dapat tumigil sa pag-aabiso sa publiko kontra Leptospirosis, bagkus, dapat kumilos, upang matuldukan ang sanhi o pinagmumulan ng sakit na ito.

Sa Malacañang Insider, sinabi ni Health Secretary Ted Herbosa na tulad sa Dengue kung saan pinapatay ang mga lamok na may dala ng virus na ito dapat na ring tutukan ang populasyon ng mga daga sa bansa.

“In fact, the rest of the world look at us a leptospirosis… Yes. Mumbai and Manila are the one that have recorded world record numbers. The highest is Mumbai after flood but you know what happens in Mumbai? The temples have rats, they don’t kill the rats. But Manila, we can solve it because we can do rodent control. We should be able to control this.” -Sec Herbosa

Isang hakbang dito ang maayos at epektibong solid waste management.

Sabi ng kalihim, kung mapapansin kasi maraming tambak ng basura sa bawat sulok ng komunidad na pinamamahayan ng mga daga.

At tuwing bumabaha aniya, nawawala ang mga basurang ito at naanod ng tubig baha.

Naniniwala ang kalihim na kung matutugunan ang populasyon ng daga sa bansa, maku-kontrolin rin ng public health emergency na ito.

“When solid waste management is poor, the rodent population numbers increase. When the rodent population numbers increased, leptospirosis cases will increase. So, if we control the rodents, we should be able to control this as a public health endeavor.” -Sec Herbosa. | ulat ni Racquel Bayan
