Nasa proseso na ngayon ang Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) ng paglipat ng mga account ng 4Ps beneficiaries patungo ng e-wallets.
Sabi ni DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian, mula sa basic deposit account ay inililipat na nila ito sa e-wallets dahil aniya mahirap para sa mga nakatira sa malalayong lugar na maka-access sa kanilang Land Bank deposit account para makuha ang 4Ps grant.
Nakikipag-ugnayan aniya sila ngayon sa GCash, Maya at iba pang e-wallet, at nagsasagawa ng mga roadshow upang masiguro na maililipat sa e-wallets ang account ng mga benepisyayro.
“Moving forward for 4Ps, we’ve already started rolling out converting the basic deposit accounts into e-wallets. The reason being, we all know that the farther you are from city centers, the more costly it is to get your grants inside land bank accounts. We are working currently with GCash, Maya, doing roadshows nationwide to make sure that basic deposit accounts of 4Peace are moved into e-wallets, because it’s going to be easier for them to transact with GCash and Maya merchants that are quite numerous in their areas.” sabi ni Gatchalian
Natukoy naman ng DSWD, na nagkakaroon ng alinlangan ang mga benepisyaryo na gumamit ng e-wallet dahil sa takot na ma-scam at dahil sa kawalan ng cellphone.
Dahil dito, nakikipag-ugnayan aniya sila sa Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas para sa pagsasagawa ng financial literacy, e-wallet edition.
Humingi na rin sila aniya ng tulong sa pribadong sektor para mabigyan sila ng basic cellphone o kahit second-hand na mobile phone.
“We’ve identified bottlenecks in the 4Peace, why they don’t want to migrate, for instance, lack of cell phones, fear of being scammed, and that’s why we’re working with the BSP on financial literacy electronic edition. We are also working with the private sector in trying to find ways to provide the poorest of the poor basic cell phones or second-hand cell phones, so that they can gradually migrate towards e-wallets.
