Nakiisa ang ilang mambabatas sa panawagan ng Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) Davao City Chapter kay Pastor Apollo Quiboloy at kapwa akusado na payapang sumuko at sumunod sa batas.
Ayon kay 1-Rider Party-list Representative Rodge Gutierrez hindi na lamang ito tungkol sa pagsunod sa batas ngunit pagpapakita ng paggalang sa justice system at due process.
“This is not just about following the law; it’s about showing respect for our justice system and ensuring that due process is carried out fairly. I urge Pastor Quiboloy to heed this call and demonstrate his respect for the rule of law by submitting to the judicial process,” sabi ni Gutierrez.
Paalala naman ni Ako Bicol Representative Jil Bongalon na ang rule of law ay mahalagang bahagi ng demokrasya at walang sinoman ang mas nakatataas dito.
“The rule of law is the foundation of our democracy, and no one is above it. The IBP’s statement is a clear reminder that justice must prevail, regardless of who is involved..I fully support the IBP Davao’s call for a peaceful surrender by Pastor Quiboloy and his co-accused. Let us all abide by the legal processes that safeguard the rights of every citizen and uphold the integrity of our courts,” ani Bongalon.
Sinegundahan ito ni Deputy Majority Leader Janette Garin at sinabi na ang pagpapasuko kay Quiboloy ay nagpapakita ng importansya ng pananagutan upang mapanatili ang tiwala ng publiko sa legal system.
“The IBP’s insistence on a peaceful surrender by Pastor Quiboloy and his co-accused underscores the importance of accountability in our legal system. We cannot allow anyone to evade justice. I join the IBP in calling on Pastor Quiboloy to respect the law and to surrender voluntarily so that the truth can be uncovered through proper legal channels,” wika ni Garin.
Suportado naman ni Deputy Majority Leader Jude Acidre ang tugon ni dating Senador Leila De Lima ukol sa pahayag ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte kaugnay sa isyu.
Ani Acidre imbes na tuligsain ang pagpapatupad ng isang ligal na warrant of arrest ay dapat tulungan na lang ng dating Pangulo ang mga awtoridad na pasukuin si Quiboloy.
“We support Senator De Lima’s pronouncement that ex-President Duterte should be helping authorities enforce the warrant of arrest against his ally, Apollo Quiboloy.
