Panukala para ipagbawal ang e-sabong, lusot na sa komite sa Kamara

Inaprubahan na ng House Committee on Games and Amusement ang panukala na layong ipagbawal na nang tuluyan ang online cockfighting o e-sabong.

Aminado ang komite na hindi magiging madali ang pagbabawal nito.

Taong 2022 nang ibaba ng Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang Executive Order (EO) 9 para sa patuloy na suspensyon ng operasyon ng e-sabong sa buong bansa.

Gayunman ayon kay Committee on Games and Amusement Chair Antonio Ferrer, nagpapatuloy pa rin ito bagamat maliit na lang.

Dagdag pa ng mambabatas na walang Police powers ang PAGCOR para sa regulasyon nito.

Tinukoy naman ni Leyte Representative Richard Gomez na kaya nagpapatuloy ang e-sabong ay dahil sa pagmamay-ari ito ng ilang maimpluwensyang tao.

Sa nakaraang pagdinig pa aniya ng Senado, sinabi ni PAGCOR Chair Al Tengco na may 2,000 na e-sabong pa ang nag-o-operate sa bansa.
