Nanawagan ngayon si Cagayan de Oro Representative Rufus Rodriguez kay Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benhur Abalos na ipasara na ang nalalabi pang 200 iligal na Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGOs) sa bansa bilang pagtalima sa direktiba ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
Ito ay sa gitna na rin ng rebelasyon ni Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) Executive Director Gilbert Cruz noong nakaraang linggo, na may 200 pang iligal na POGO na tumatakbo sa bansa,
Aniya, dapat ay atasan na ni Sec. Abalos ang Philippine National Police (PNP) na ikandado ang lahat ng iligal na POGO, at si Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla naman ay dapat aniyang patulungin ang National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) sa pagsasagawa ng mga operasyon.
“The report of Executive Director Cruz shows that hundreds of underground POGO operators are flouting President BBM’s directive. Secretary Abalos and Secretary Remulla should see to it that this is now strictly enforced,” sabi ni Roriguez.
Mungkahi pa ng mambabatas sa NBI at PNP, na makipag ugnayan sa Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) at telecommunication companies para matukoy ang mga ginagamit nilang internet at cell provider, at matunton ang kanilang mga lokasyon.
Katunayan, sa isinagawang raid sa isang POGO sa Porac Pampanga ay natuklasan ang libong SIM cards.
“So it should not be difficult for technology-equipped agencies like the PNP, NBI and DICT to detect illegal POGO operations,” sabi ni Rodriguez.
