DSWD, makikipagtulungan sa DBM para sa unhampered services sa Lalawigan ng Sulu – Sec. Gatchalian

Tiniyak ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) na makikipagtulungan sa Department of Budget and Management (DBM) upang magkaroon ng sapat na pondo para sa social protection program sa Sulu.

Kasunod ito ng desisyon ng Korte Suprema na hindi kasama ang lalawigan sa Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

Ginawa ni DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian ang hakbang na ito sa kanyang pagharap sa Senate Committee on Finance, na pinag-uusapan ang panukalang 2025 budget ng ahensya.

Matatandaang idineklara ng Korte Suprema ang Probinsya ng Sulu bilang hindi bahagi ng BARMM, matapos panindigan ng pinakamataas na hukuman ang bisa ng Republic Act No. 11054 o ang Bangsamoro Organic Law.

Tinanggihan ng mga botante sa Lalawigan ng Sulu ang pagpapatibay ng batas sa isang plebisito.

 Nilinaw pa ng DSWD Chief, na pagdating sa mga programang nagbibigay ng direktang grant – tulad ng Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP), at Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizens (SocPen) – ang pagbibigay ng tulong sa   mga benepisyaryo ay hindi maaapektuhan dahil ang cash aid ay personal na tinatanggap ng mga benepisyaryo. | ulat ni Rey Ferrer
