Inaprubahan sa plenaryo ng Kamara ang House Concurrent Resolution No. 37 o resolusyon na nagsasaad na maisama sa dalawang distrito ng Taguig at munisipalidad ng Pateros ang 10 EMBO barangays.
Ito ay upang hindi ma-disenfranchise ang mga botante sa nalalapit na 2025 Mid-Term Elections.
Sa manipestasyon naman ni Makati Representative Luis Campos Jr., ipinunto niya na ang naturang concurrent resolution ay “persuasive in nature” lamang at hindi maaaring ituring na batas.
Giit niya na hindi dapat isipin na magagamit ang resolusyon para isantabi ang legislative process nang pagbuo at paghahayo ng distrito.
“I know that this representation understands that the concurrent resolution is merely persuasive in nature and does not have the force of law, but in order for it not to be misconstrued as a circumvention of the legislative process for the creation of districts or apportionment of the same, I would want the resolution from the House to state and reflect the sentiments of the members, Mr. Speaker,” sabi ni Campos.
Nagpasalamat naman si Taguig Representative Ading Cruz sa pag-apruba ng resolusyon.
Aniya ang gusto lang naman nila ay makaboto yung 10 barangay sa mga EMBO sa lungsod ng Taguig alinsunod sa desisyon ng Korte Suprema.
Katunayan noon aniyang BSK Elections ay sa Taguig na bumoto ang naturang mga barangay.
“Yan po lang naman ang gusto namin ay makaboto yung mga taga-EMBO-EMBO ng konsehal at magkaroon naman po ng representasyon ang mga barangay sa EMBO-EMBO,” ani Cruz.
