Ilang mga hakbang para maiwasan ang pagtaas ng presyo ng pagkain sa bansa, tinalakay sa Joint Meeting ng Economic Devt Group at Inter-Agency Committee on Inflation & Market Outlook

Upang mapigilan ang pagtaas ng presyo ng pagkain sa bansa, iprinisinta ng ilang ahensya ng gobyerno, partikular ng Department of Agriculture (DA) ang kanilang ipinatutupad na hakbang upang mapangasiwaan ang food inflation.

Kabilang si DA Secretary Fransico Tiu Laurel Jr. sa isinagawang Joint Meeting ng Economic Development Group (EDG) at Inter-Agency  Committee on Inflation and Market Outlook (IAC-IMO).

Ayon kay Sec. Laurel patuloy nilang dinidiskubre ang mga interventions  at bisoecurity measures upang maprotektahan ang swine industry.

Nanawagan din si  National Economic Development  Authority  Secretary Arsenio Balisacan sa mga implementing agencies na magsagawa ng “supply augmenting programs” upang ma-control ang sakit sa mga baboy, kabilang dito ang pag-rollout ng African Swine Fever (ASF) vaccines at pagsunod sa Integrated  Pest Management  technologies para naman sa asukal.

Ayon naman kay Finance Secretary Ralph Recto, mahigpit nilang  mino-monitor ang exemption na ipinagkakaloob sa mga truck na nagbibiyahe ng mga agricultural products. 

Maaalalang pinalawig pa ng Toll Regulatory Board ang hakbang mula September hanggang December 2024 upang mabawasan ang product cost na ibinebenta sa mga palengke.  | ulat ni Melany Valdoz Reyes
