Pinuri ng Quad Committee ng Kamara ang pagkakahuli kay Tony Yang, o Yang Jian Xin, na nakatatandang kapatid ng dating presidential adviser na si Michael Yang.
Ayon kay Quad Committee Lead Chair Robert Ace Barbers, isa itong “major breakthrough” sa kanilang imbestigayon dahil mas mapapalalim nila ang pagsisiyasat sa posibleng operasyon ng mga large-scale crime syndicate sa bansa.
Diin ni Barbers, pinalabas nila na mga lehitimong negosyo ang kanilang itinatayo para pagtakpan ang mga iligal nilang aktibidad.
“This is a major breakthrough in our fight against illegal drugs and organized crime. Tony Yang’s arrest exposes illicit activities disguised as legitimate businesses. For too long, these individuals have operated with impunity, using corporate fronts to conceal their illegal operations. This arrest strengthens our commitment to pursuing justice and holding everyone involved in these syndicates accountable, no matter how well-connected they may be,” ani Barbers.
Nahuli ng pwersa ng Bureau of Immigration at Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) si Yang na kinlasipika bilang isang undesirable alien, maliban pa sa kwestyonableng pagtatayo ng negosyo gayong isa siyang Chinese national.
Binigyang-diin naman ni Santa Rosa City Representative Dan Fernandez, co-chair ng Quad Committee ang kritikal na papel ni Yang sa pagsisiwalat ng lalim ng operasyon ng smuggling at POGO sa bansa.
“Tony Yang’s capture is a crucial development in our investigation. His company, Philippine Sanjia Steel Corporation, has been implicated in drug smuggling and illegal POGO operations. We expect him to cooperate and provide valuable testimony that will help us uncover the intricate web of criminal operations operating under the radar,” sabi pa niya.
Inaasahan na isang matrix ang ilalantad ng komite para mapatunayan ang pagkakaugnay-ugnay ng POGO at iligal na droga.
