Pilipinas, umangat ang ranggo sa 2024 United Nations Global Cybersecurity Index

Umakyat ang puwesto ng Pilipinas sa listahan ng mga bansang may matatag na cybersecurity measures.

Mula sa ika-61 noong 2020, tumalon na sa ika-53 ang ranggo ng Pilipinas sa 2024 United Nations Global Cybersecurity Index (GCI).

Sa report na inilabas noong September 12, nakakuha ang Pilipinas ng 93.49 cybersecurity score.  Dahil dito, umangat sa Tier 2 (Advancing) ang Pilipinas na kaunti na lang ang pagitan para mapasama sa Tier 1 na kinabibilangan ng pinakamagagaling sa mundo sa aspeto ng cybersecurity.

Itinuturing naman ni Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Ivan John Uy na isang malaking tagumpay para sa Pilipinas ang nakamit na cybersecurity score na ito.

Ayon sa kalihim, ipinapakita nito na nagbubunga na ang mga pagsisikap na protektahan ang mga Pilipino online.

Kabilang na rito ang mga programa gaya ng National Cybersecurity Plan (NCSP) 2023-2028.  | ulat ni Merry Ann Bastasa
