Nagpaabot ng pasasalamat ang mga miyembro ng PMA “Matikas” Class of 1983 sa Quad Committee ng Kamara matapos mabunyag sa kanilang imbestigasyom ang mga taong nasa likod ng pagpatay sa kanilang Mistah na si dating Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) Board Secretary Wesley Barayuga noong 2020.
Ayon kay Retired Air Force Col. Enrique Dela Cruz, presidente ng PMA Class 1983, dahil sa maigting na pangsisiyasat ng komite ay nabigyang pag-asa sila na sa wakas ay maresolba ang pagpatay kay Barayuga.
“Such service and commitment to deliver justice and righteous acts as you do today give us confidence that our nation is indeed represented by wise, courageous and honorable men. It may not bring our dear Wesley back but it is reassuring that there are people in government who are doing their best to bring the perpetrators to justice, (and) in behalf of the family of our dear Mistah, we also convey our profound gratitude for the identification of the assailants,” saad sa liham na ipinadala sa Quad Committee.
Sa panig naman ni Surigao del Norte Representative Robert Ace Barbers, lead chair ng komite, kaniyang ipinaabot ang pasasalamat sa tiwala ng Matikas Class sa Quad Committee.
Nangako rin si Barbers na patuloy na sisiyasatin ang isyu para mapanagot ang mga may sala.
“First of all, I thank the PMA Class 1983 members for their trust and confidence to the QuadCom leaders and members. On behalf of QuadCom, I would like to assure you that we would dig to the bottom of Wesley’s case and ensure that all the people who conspired in his murder are punished under all our applicable laws,” ani Barbers.
Matatandaan na sa ika-pitong pagdinig ng Quad Committee humarap sina active-duty Police Lt. Col. Santie Fuentes Mendoza at kaniyang civilian anti-drug “asset” na si Nelson Mariano na itinuro sina dating PCSO General Manager Royina Garma at NaPolCom Commissioner Edilberto Leonardo na nagplano at nagpondo ng operasyon laban kay Barayuga. | ulat ni Kathleen Jean Forbes
