Proseso ng pagbabayad ng claims ng PhilHealth sa mga ospital, pinapaayos ng House Panel Chair

Labis na ikinabahala ni House Committee on Appropriations Chair Elizaldy Co na may ₱14.88-billion na delayed payment ang Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) sa mga ospital.

Sa Budget Hearing sa Kamara, nanawagan si Co sa PhilHealth na ayusin ang proseso ng pagbabayad ng claims upang hindi maapektuhan ang kalidad ng serbisyong pangkalusugan na ibinibigay sa mga Pilipino.

Ayon kasi kay PhilHealth President Emmanuel Ledesma, nasa 24 days lang inaabot para mabayaran nila ang claims ng mga ospital.

Pero batay sa records na ibinahagi ni Health Secretary Ted Herbosa sa halos ₱15-billion pesos na atrasadong bayad, ₱6.7-billion dito ay dalawang taon na ang tagal.

Hirit naman ng PhilHealth 70% ng claims na ito ay Return to Hospital (RTH) o denied claims.

Dahil naman dito, pinatitiyak ni Co na ito ay maisaayos lalo na at ang mga pampublikong ospital ang unang takbuhan ng mga mahihirap na Pilipino. | ulat ni Kathleen Jean Forbes
