Asahan na ang paglalim pa ng ugnayan ng Pilipinas at Indonesia sa iba’t ibang linya ng kooperasyon, sa oras na opisyal nang maupo sa pwesto ni Indonesian President-elect Prabowo Subianto.
Sa courtesy call sa Malacañang ngayong hapon (September 20), sinabi ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., na ang pagbisita ng Indonesian official ay magdadala lamang ng bagong bugso na magpapatatag sa ugnayan ng dalawang bansa.
“It bodes well for our two countries that you have come to visit the Philippines, and that shows that the growing relationship between our two countries, which has been at a very strong level for many, many years. At many aspects of the people to people, on the political, on the diplomatic, we are about to celebrate our 75th year of relations this November.” -Pangulong Marcos.
Sumasalamin rin ito, ayon sa Pangulo, sa lumalagong relasyon ng Jakarta at Maynila.
Sa panig naman ng President-elect, sinabi nito na kaisa sila ng Pilipinas sa panawagan na patatagin pa ang samahan ng dalawang bansa, maging ng iba pang bansa sa Asya.
“I came here today to pay my respects because exactly one month from now, on the 20th of October, God willing, I will be inaugurated as President of the Republic of Indonesia. And perhaps it’s the Asian way, our custom, before we enter into a new position.” – President-elect Prabowo
Mayroon aniyang magkaparehong pinagmulan, kultura, kasaysayan, ang Pilipinas at Indonesia, kaya’t responsibilidad lamang ng kapwa bansa na suportahan ang isa’t isa, sa lahat ng areas of cooperation.
