Bulkang Taal, muling nagtala ng minor phreatic eruption

Mahigpit pa ring binabantayan ng Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) ang aktibidad ng Bulkang Taal sa Batangas.

Sa inilabas na bulletin ng PHIVOLCS, may naitalang maliit na phreatic eruption sa bulkan sa nakalipas na 24-oras at tumagal ito ng walong minuto.

Umabot naman sa 1,577 na toneladang volcanic sulfur dioxide (SO2) gas o asupre ang inilabas ng Bulkang Taal habang nananatili rin ang upwelling ng mainit na volcanic fluids sa Main Crater Lake.

Ayon sa PHIVOLCS, nasa katamtaman na lang ang naobserbahang pagsingaw sa bulkan na may 900 metrong taas at napadpad sa timog-kanluran.

Wala ring naitalang volcanic tremor sa bulkan.

Nananatili pa rin sa Alert Level 1 ang Bulkang Taal. | ulat ni Merry Ann Bastasa
