DSWD, nagbigay ng financial assistance sa mga inilikas na OFW sa Lebanon

Agad na nagpaabot ng tulong ang Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) sa 45 Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) na iniuwi sa bansa dahil sa patuloy na kaguluhan sa Lebanon.

Kasama si DSWD Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao sa mga opisyal na sumalubong sa pagbabalik bansa ng repatriated OFWs sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport  (NAIA) Terminal 1 kahapon.

Matapos ang assessment ng DSWD social workers, tumanggap ang mga ito ng inisyal ₱20,000 cash assistance na bukod pa sa ₱150,000 cash aid mula sa Department of Migrant Workers (DMW).

Ayon sa DSWD, handa itong dagdagan pa ang tulong na ibibigay sa mga Pinoy worker kabilang ang Sustainable Livelihood Program lalo’t karamihan sa kanila ay nawalan ng trabaho. | ulat ni Merry Ann Bastasa
