Suportado ni 1-Rider Party-list Rep. Rodge Gutierrez ang anumang hakbang para sa pagpapatibay ng isang ‘anti-dynasty law’.
Aniya, malinaw naman din kasi itong nakasaad sa ating Konstitusyon.
Ang kailangan lang aniya ay malinaw na mailatag kung ano ba ang hangganan ng political dynasty–halimbawa, kung ito ba ay sa paghihiwalay sa pagitan ng local at national position o kaya naman nakabatay sa degree o layo ng affiliation o relasyon ng isang kandidato.
“I would tend to support an anti-political dynasty bill kasi mandated naman po siya by the Constitution. It’s just a question of to what extent po. There are some that believe that it should be a separation between the local and national positions. There are some that believe it should be limited by the degrees of consanguinity or affinity. Kung gano’ng kalaya po yung relasyon ng kandidato sa isang incumbent.” ani Gutierrez.
Isa rin aniya sa kailangan ikonsidera dito ay ang kalayaan ng mga botante na mamili ng kanilang nais iluklok sa pwesto, lalo at mayroon naman aniya talagang mga matagumpay na political dynasty.
“And of course, there are the considerations on the other side. How do we temper this with ‘yung will of the people? Kung sino po talagang gusto nila? Kasi as we can see in practice, the whole point of an election is to make it free, make it open, piliin ng tao ang gusto nila. I think they have quite a few political dynasties who are successful and are respected in their own field.
