DENR, ipinag-utos sa mga namamahala ng mga dam ang unti-unting pagpapakalawala ng tubig bilang paghahanda sa pagdating ng bagyong Marce

Upang maiwasan ang malawakang pagbaha at pagragasa ng tubig, ipinag-utos sa mga namamahala ng mga dam sa mga lugar na apektado ng bagyong Marce na isagawa ang “preventive spilling.”

Sa isang press conference sa National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), sinabi ni Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Secretary Ma. Antonia Yulo-Loyzaga, na dapat ay unti-unti lamang ang pagpapakawala ng tubig mula sa mga dam.

Ayon kay Secretary Loyzaga, sa pamamagitan nito ay maiiwasan ang “emergency spilling” at magiging mas maayos ang camp management.

Dagdag pa ni Sec. Loyzaga, dapat ay may flood control measures sakaling magpakawala ng tubig ang mga dam.

Kabilang naman sa mga dam na binabantayan ngayon ang Magat Dam sa Isabela at San Roque Dam sa Pangasinan na dadaanan ng bagyo. | ulat ni Diane Lear
