Nakatakdang humarap sa makapangyarihang Commission on Appointments sa Miyerkules, November 20, si DILG Sec. Jonvic Remulla para sa kaniyang kumpirmasyon ayon kay CA Assistant Minority Leader at Surigao del Sur Rep. Johnny Pimentel
Ani Pimentel, mahalagang matalakay na ang appointment ni Remulla lalo at anim na buwan na lang bago ang eleksyon.
“There’s a high chance that Secretary Remulla will be confirmed on the spot, given that we are less than six months away from the 2025 mid-term elections. We need the DILG’s peace and order functions as we approach the campaign period and the May 12 elections. The country is prone to spikes in violent incidents around election time,” sabi ni Pimentel.
Ang Committee on the Interior and Local Government na pinamumunuan ni Sen. Juan Miguel Zubiri ang didinig sa kumpirmasyon ni Remulla.
Kasabay nito ay haharap din sa Committee on Constitutional Commissions and Offices ng CA si Civil Service Chair Marilyn Barua-Yap para din sa kaniyang kumpirmasyon.
Tatalakayin din aniya ng CA ang appointment ni DTI Sec. Ma. Cristina Aldeguer-Roque na pinalitan si dating DTI Sec. Alfredo Pascual, na bumalik na sa private sector.| ulat ni Kathleen Forbes
