Pagbitaw ng pamahalaan sa paggamit ng fossil fuel, ipinanawagan ng isang environmental group

Ipinanawagan ngayon ng isang environmental think tank sa pamahalaan na madaliin na ang pagbitaw ng Pilipinas sa paggamit ng fossil fuel dahil sa epekto nito sa kalikasan.

Ayon sa Center for Energy, Ecology and Development (CEED), layon nito na patatagin ang mga hakbang ng pamahalaan na protektahan ang mga karagatan at dalampasigan mula sa polusyon.

Halimbawa na lamang sa Sorsogon at Zambales ayon sa CEED kung saan, dalawang barge ang nagdulot ng oil spill sa karagatan sa kasagsagan ng bagyong Kristine na siyang nakaapekto sa yamang dagat.

Ang mga ito ayon sa grupo ay makapipinsala hindi lamang sa likas yaman ng bansa kundi maging sa kabuhayan ng mga Pilipino na umaasa sa biyaya ng karagatan bilang kanilang kabuhayan. | ulat ni Jaymark Dagala
