187 illegal POGO workers, ipina-deport ng BI

Ipina-deport na ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) ang aabot sa 187 Chinese nationals na sangkot sa ilegal na operasyon ng online gaming (POGO) dito sa bansa.

Ayon kay BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado, ang mga ipina-deport na dayuhan ay lulan ng Philippine Airlines flight papuntang Shanghai, China, noong Disyembre 5, na umalis sa NAIA Terminal 1 bandang tanghali nang araw ding iyon.

Sinabi ni Viado na ang hakbang na ito ay malinaw na mensahe na hindi kinukunsinti ng pamahalaan ang anumang ilegal na gawain ng mga dayuhan sa bansa.

Ang mga nasabing indibidwal ay kabilang sa mga naaresto sa operasyon ng BI at Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) sa Pasay City at Cebu. Kung saan na patunayan ng mga awtoridad ang kanilang partisipasyon sa ilegal na POGO operations.

Tatlo sa orihinal na 190 target ng deportation ang hindi nakasama sa nasabing paglipad dahil may isa sa mga ito ay mayroong hold departure order, habang ang dalawa ay may nakabinbing kaso sa bansa.

Dagdag pa ng BI, inilagay na sa immigration blacklist ang mga ipina-deport na Chinese, kaya’t hindi na sila maaaring makabalik pa sa Pilipinas.

Binigyang-diin din ni Viado na patuloy ang ahensya sa mahigpit na pagpapatupad ng mga batas sa imigrasyon para protektahan ang seguridad ng bansa.| ulat ni EJ Lazaro
