PhilHealth, nananatiling ‘fiscally robust’; Serbisyo sa mga miyembro, di maaapektuhan ng zero subsidy sa 2025

Iginiit ni Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) President at CEO Emmanuel Ledesma na fiscally robust ang state health insurer.

Ito ay sa gitna ng ipinatawag na briefing ng House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability kaugnay sa epekto ng zero subsidy sa operasyon ng PhilHealth sa 2025.

Sa harap ng mga mambabatas, sinabi ni Ledesma na hanggang nitong October 2024, may P150 billion na surplus ang PhilHealth at may kabuuang reserve na P281 billion. Mayroon din aniya itong P489 billion na investment fund.

Kaya naman kakayanin aniya ng ahensya na ipagpatuloy ang operasyon nito, at masilbihan ang pangangailangang pangkalusugan ng 115 milyon nitong miyembro.

Katunayan, magpapatupad aniya sila ng dagdag na 50 percent na increase sa coverage ng kanilang case rates sa susunod na buwan o kabuuang 80% na increase sa lahat ng All Case Rates packages.

Aminado si Ledesma, na hamon ngayon ang kawalan ng national government subsidy ngunit mananatili aniya ang misyon ng PhilHealth, at wala aniyang magbabago sa mga plano nito na palawigin ang benepisyo para sa kanilang mga miyembro.

Kasabay nito, ibinida rin ni Ledesma ang ilan sa mga ipinatupad nilang pagbabago sa ilalim ng kaniyang termino.

Kabilang na dito ang enhanced Z benefits package para sa breast cancer, post-kidney transplant at deceased organ donors; paglalabas ng Rare Diseases package o ‘Z Miracles’ para sa 10 rare diseases gayundin ang pagbabayad sa higit 50% ng hospital claims. | ulat ni Kathleen Forbes
