Inaasahang aabot sa mahigit 265,000 pasahero ang dadagsa sa mga pantalan ngayong araw, Enero 4, ayon sa forecast ng Philippine Ports Authority (PPA).

Pero sa kabila ng bulto ng mga pasahero, sinabi ni PPA General Manager Jay Santiago na handang-handa ang mga pantalan nito sa pagbabalik ng mga biyahero matapos ang holiday season.

Kasalukuyan ding ipinapatupad ang heightened alert status para sa seguridad, kung saan higit 3,000 security personnel, K-9 units, at 24/7 CCTV monitoring ang nakatalaga. May mga Malasakit Helpdesk din sa bawat pantalan upang magbigay ng agarang tulong sa mga pasahero.

Hinikayat ni Santiago ang publiko na maagang mag-book ng kanilang biyahe upang maiwasan ang mahabang pila sa ticketing booths.

Samantala, nananatili pa rin paalala sa mga pasahero na huwag magdala ng mga ipinagbabawal na kagamitan tulad ng matatalim na bagay at paputok.

Kabilang sa mga port management offices na may pinakamaraming pasahero ay ang PMOs ng Batangas, Bohol, Davao, Negros Oriental/Siquijor, at Bicol.
