Higit 200 detained Filipinos, ginawaran ng pardon ng pamahalaan ng United Arab Emirates

Pinu-proseso na ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) at Embahada ng Pilipinas sa Abu Dhabi ang documentary at administrative requirements para sa agarang pag-uwi ng 220 Pilipino na naka-detain sa United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Ito ang inanunsyo ng Presidential Communications Office (PCO) kasunod ng iginawad na pardon sa mga ito, kasabay ng ika-53 National Day ng UAE.

Ang UAE ay karaniwang naggagawad ng pardon tuwing ikalawa ng Disyembre, bilang bahagi ng selebrasyon sa kaganapang ito.

Ayon sa pamahalaan, ang pardon sa 220 detained Filipino ay bilang pagkilala na rin sa pagkakaibigan ng Pilipinas at UAE.

Direktang resulta rin anila ito ng ginanap na pulong sa pagitan nina Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. at His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, noong Nobyembre.

Kung matatandaan, noong Hunyo, nasa 143 detained Filipino ang una na ring nagawaran ng pardon sa UAE, bilang bahagi naman ng obsersbasyon ng Eid al-Adha. | ulat ni Racquel Bayan
