House leaders, di na ikinagulat ang resulta ng SWS survey na 41% ng mga Pilipino ang sumusuporta sa impeachment vs VP Duterte

Hindi na ikinagulat ng ilang House leaders ang dumaraming suporta sa impeachment complaint laban kay Vice President Sara Duterte.

Kasunod ito ng resulta ng Social Weather Stations (SWS) na nagsasabi na 41 percent ng mga Pilipino ang suportado ang impeachment laban sa Pangalawang Pangulo.

Ayon kay House Assistant Majority Leader Jay Khonghun, ipinapakita nito na nais ng publiko ng pananagutan sa mga naging aksyon ng bise presidente.

Partikular dito ang maling paggamit sa may P612.5 million na confidential fund ng Office of the Vice President (OVP) at Department of Education (DepEd).

Giit pa ni Khonghun, ang resulta ng survey ay nagpapatibay sa responsibilidad ng Kongreso na tiyakin ang integridad ng impeachment process.

“The public expects us to ensure that no one is above the law, no matter how powerful they may be,” sabi niya.

Diin naman ni Deputy Majority leader Paolo Ortega, na hindi politically motivated ang mga inihaing reklamo bagkus ay nakabatay sa mga ebidensya.

Sabi pa niya, karapatan ng bawat Pilipino na makakuha ng paliwanag tungkol sa isyu at ito marahil ang sentimyento na lumabas sa naturang survey.

“This is about accountability. The evidence against the Vice President is glaring, from the misuse of confidential funds to a pattern of governance riddled with questions. The Filipino people deserve answers, and their support for impeachment shows they are demanding transparency and justice,” ani Ortega.

Isinagawa ang survey noong December 12 hanggang 18, 2024. Lumabas din dito na may 35% na tutol sa impeachment at 19% na undecided. | ulat ni Kathleen Forbes
