Termino ni PNP Chief Marbil, posibleng ma-extend hanggang pagkatapos ng 2025 Elections

Malaki ang tyansa na mapalawig ang termino ni Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Rommel Marbil, hanggang sa matapos ang 2025 Midterm Elections sa Mayo.

Si Marbil ay nakatakdang magretiro sa Pebrero.

Ayon kay Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., malakas ang argumento na dapat manatili muna sa pwesto ang heneral, lalo’t makakaapekto sa stability, sakaling magpalit pa ng pinuno ng PNP sa gitna ng campaign period at nalalapit na eleksyon.

Sinabi ng Pangulo na pinag-aralan na nila ang posibleng pagpapalawig ng termino ni Marbil.

“There is a very strong argument that it would be, it would not be good for stability especially to change the Chief PNP in the middle of a campaign period and approaching an election period. So pinag-aaralan namin, but I think that is probably a very strong argument to keep him on. At the very least, until after the elections,” pahayag ng Pangulong Marcos. | ulat ni Racquel Bayan
