Bagong guidelines para sa Oplan Katok, ilalabas ng PNP

Nakatakdang maglabas ng bagong panuntunan ang Philippine National Police (PNP) para sa kanilang kampanya kontra loose firearms na ‘Oplan Katok.’

Ayon sa PNP, ito’y upang matiyak na hindi ito maaabuso alinsunod na rin sa kagustuhan ng Commission on Elections (COMELEC) lalo na ngayong panahon ng halalan.

Sa pulong-balitaan sa Kampo Crame, sinabi ni Police Regional Office 3 Director at Concurrent PNP Spokesperson, Police Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo na bunga ito ng naging pulong ng PNP sa Gun and Security Concerns Committee.

Kaya naman idaragdag ang guidelines na ito ng Directorate for Operations sa kanilang isusumite sa poll body matapos ang masusing talakayan.

Magugunitang nilinaw kamakailan ni COMELEC Spokesperson, Atty. John Rex Laudiangco na hindi sila tutol sa inisyatibang ito ng PNP subalit nais nilang hindi ito magamit bilang panakot. | ulat ni Jaymark Dagala
