DSWD,BJMP, lumagda sa kasunduan para matiyak ang suplay ng pagkain sa mga kulungan

Lumagda ang Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) at Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) sa Memorandum of Understanding upang masiguro ang sapat na suplay ng pagkain sa mga piitan.

Ayon kay DSWD Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao, kinikilala ng ahensya ang kahalagahan ng whole-of-government approach para matiyak ang food security sa mga vulnerable sectors kabilang na ang mga Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL).

Sa ilalim ng kasunduan, makikipagtulungan ang BJMP sa mga community-based organizations na kinikilala ng Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty Program upang matiyak ang suplay ng agricultural products para sa pagkain ng mga PDL.

Noong 2024, 31 community-based organizations ang nakipagtulungan sa mga regional offices ng BJMP bilang suppliers ng pagkain at iba pang mga produkto at nakapagbenta ng mahagit P750,000 na halaga ng produkto sa mga kulungan sa bansa. | ulat ni Diane Lear
