NFA, ipapamahagi na ang unang batch ng bigas na ibebenta sa LGUs

Sisimulan na ng National Food Authority (NFA) ang paglalabas ng stock ng bigas na ibebenta sa mga lokal na pamahalaan kasunod ng deklarasyon ng National Food Security Emergency sa bigas.

Ngayong araw, nakatakda na ang ceremonial turnover ng NFA para sa ilang LGUs na nagpahayag ng interes na magbenta ng NFA rice.

Kabilang dito ang mga lungsod ng San Juan, Valenzuela, Navotas, at lalawigan ng Camarines Sur.

Sa ilalim ng Food Security Emergency, ibebenta ang nasa dalawang buwang stock ng bigas ng NFA sa halagang ₱33 kada kilo sa pamamagitan ng Food Terminal Incorporated (FTI).

Maaari naman itong ibenta sa mga consumer sa halagang ₱35 kada kilo.

Nasa tinatayang 150,000 metric tons ng NFA rice stocks ang target na maibenta ng Department of Agriculture (DA) sa loob ng anim na buwan.

Una nang ipinunto ng DA na ang deklarasyon ng Food Security Emergency ay para mailabas ang mga sobrang buffer ng NFA at matiyak na mabibigyang daan ang mga papasok na ani ng mga magsasaka ngayong harvest season. | ulat ni Merry Ann Bastasa
