Iginiit ng dalawang mambabatas mula sa Young Guns bloc na panahon nang mahinto ang paggamit ng pagbabanta sa mga pahayag at political rhetoric, seryoso man ito o biro.
Kasunod ito ng pahayag ni NBI Director Jaime Santiago na bahagi lang ng political propaganda ngayon panahon ng kampanya ang naging pahayag ng dating Pang. Rodrigo Duterte na papatay ng labinlimang senador para makapasok ang kanilang mga pambato.
Ayon kay Lanao del Sur Rep. Zia Alonto Adiong, kailangan magkaroon ng malinaw na polisiya pagdating sa mga pagbabanta biro man ito o hindi.
Dagdag pa niya, lumalabas na dahil dating pangulo ang nagsabi nito ay maaari na lang palampasin.
“We are actually trying to convey a message where in the case of the former president where he somehow has the license and permit to say anything he says, he can tell you I will kill you, he can tell you I will kill him, and then get away with it. It’s time to draw the line. When do we allow this kind of talks to go unscathed and without even a sense of impunity?…It’s so unfortunate to hear that from the NBI Director. Again, hindi naman dapat kami ang actual na ma-threat para manawagan na hindi ito dapat mangyari,” diin ni Adiong.
Sinusugan ito ni 1-Rider party-list Rep. Rodge Gutierrez.
Diin pa ng kongresista na hindi dapat basta balewalain ang pahayag na ito lalo na at dati nang sinabi ng dating pangulo na siya ay pumatay.
“…I don’t think the question of who is complaining to the NBI should be a question here. And I think it shouldn’t be dismissed so early. I think, personally, we respect of course the good NBI director. Pero this is coming from someone who was admitted to previously killing before. So, it’s not in the same way na ako na wala pa akong pinapatay magbiro po ako. I don’t think it’s the same way especially because it’s tainted by political drive. Now, it could be political rhetoric. It could be right. But I think he should at least entertain the idea, hindi po yung dini-dismissed right away,” ani Gutierrez. | ulat ni Kathleen Forbes
