PCG, nakatanggap ng capacity building support mula sa Japan Coast Guard

Nakatanggap ng dagdag na pagsasanay ang Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) mula sa Japan Coast Guard (JCG) bilang bahagi ng kanilang capacity building support.

Mula Enero 20 hanggang 31, isinagawa ang training sa ilalim ng Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) bilang bahagi ng Official Development Assistance (ODA) ng Japan. Pinangunahan ito ng Mobile Cooperation Team (MCT) ng JCG, na nagbigay ng teknikal na gabay sa mga tauhan ng PCG patrol vessels, kabilang ang dalawang 44-metrong class patrol vessels mula sa Japan.

Kabilang sa mga itinurong kasanayan ang towing operation at small boat operation, na mahalaga sa mga aktwal na operasyon sa karagatan.

Tiniyak ng Japan Coast Guard na magpapatuloy ang kanilang suporta upang mapalakas pa ang kakayahan ng PCG sa pagpapatrolya at pagsasagawa ng maritime operations. | ulat ni EJ Lazaro
