BSP, mahigpit na nakabantay sa global challenges na makaaapekto sa katatagan ng pananalapi at presyo ng bilihin

Tiniyak ng Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) na patuloy nilang babantayan ang mga pandaigdigang pagbabago at hamon na nakakaapekto sa financial status ng bansa.

Ayon sa BSP dahil sa pagbabago sa trade policy ng US at geopolitical tension, inaasahan ang paghina ng balance of payments ngayong taon hanggang 2026.

Ayon sa forecast, pinapahina ng tumitinding global economic uncertainty ang kalakalan at kumpiyansa ng mga mamumuhunan.

Sa datos ng BSP, inaasahang lalagpas sa US$4 bilyon ang kabuuang BOP deficit sa 2025 at 2026, dulot ng mas malawak na current account deficit na aabot sa -3.9% ng GDP.

Kabilang sa mga nagpapabigat sa sitwasyon ay ang mahinang ekonomiya ng China, tensyon sa Middle East at Eastern Europe, at pabago-bagong presyo ng mga bilihin.

Bagamat inaasahang patuloy ang paglago ng lokal na ekonomiya dahil sa private consumption, investments at infra spending nananatiling hamon ang pagbaba ng exports ng semiconductors, epekto ng US job reshoring sa BPO sector ng Pilipinas at bahagyang epekto sa  remittances.

Siniguro ng BSP, na patuloy nilang isusulong ang mga reporma sa ekonomiya at inaasahang pagdagsa ng foreign investments bilang panangga laban sa mga pandaigdigang hamon. | ulat ni Melany Valdoz Reyes
