Disaster response measures ng DSWD, palalakasin pa

Magtutulungan ang Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) at International Organization for Migration (IOM) para sa pagpapalakas ng disaster response measures ng bansa.

Isang Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) ang lalagdaan sa pagitan ng dalawang ahensya para mapaigting pa ang emergency preparedness at response capacities ng pamahalaan.

Ayon kay DSWD Spokesperson Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao, bahagi ito ng whole of nation approach ng kagawaran bilang Vice-Chair ng Disaster Response Pillar under the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).

Sa ilalim naman ng partnership, tututukan ng DSWD at IOM ang capacity building measures sa camp coordination at camp management (CCCM); pagbibigay proteksyon sa internally displaced persons’ (IDP); at non-food items’ (NFI) management ng national agencies, LGUs, at iba pang stakeholders.

Ang IOM ay miyembro ng United Nations Humanitarian Country Team (UNHCT) at co-lead agency ng DSWD sa ilalim ng Response and Early Recovery Approach ng Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (PDRRM) system.
