DOE, may panawagan sa pagdiriwang ng Earth Hour

Sa paggunita ng Earth Hour, muling nananawagan ang Department of Energy (DOE) sa publiko na magtipid sa paggamit ng kuryente at tubig.

May temang “Switch Off and Secure Water for All”, layunin ng Earth Hour 2025 na ipakita ang mahalagang koneksyon ng enerhiya at tubig sa ating pang-araw-araw na buhay.

Ayon kay Energy Secretary Raphael Lotilla, bawat kilowatt ng kuryenteng ating ginagamit ay may katumbas na tubig na nauubos—mula sa pagpapalamig ng mga planta ng kuryente hanggang sa pagpapadaloy ng tubig sa ating mga tahanan.

Kaya naman hinihikayat ng DOE ang publiko na makiisa sa Earth Hour ngayong gabi mula 8:30 hanggang 9:30 PM sa pamamagitan ng pagpapatay ng ilaw at mga hindi kinakailangang appliances.

Dagdag pa rito, iminungkahi rin ang paggamit ng LED bulbs, inverter appliances, at ang mulat na pagbabawas ng paggamit ng enerhiya tuwing peak hours.

Bilang aktibong katuwang ng WWF Philippines, tiniyak ng DOE ang patuloy na pagsulong ng mga programang naglalayong gawing mas matibay at mas sustainable ang enerhiya ng bansa.
